VND 3.4 billion bring a warm Tet for the disadvantaged people
The 17th Lawrence S. Ting Charity Walk was organized by LSTF on Jan 8, 2022, to maintain our commitment to bring a warmer and happier Lunar New Year for poor people.
This year, the charity walk has been raised VND 3.4 billion, which transferred to the "Funds for Poor People" in District 7, 8, Nha Be and Binh Chanh, and other associations to bring Tet joys to people in need.
Speaking at the charity walk, our operations director, Mr. Phan Chanh Duong, said: The charity walk has been carried out since the first days of our foundation to support poor and disadvantaged people. We appreciate and are thankful to many organizations and individuals who have joined hands with us and participated in this program today, even though difficult circumstances caused by Covid-19."
"HCM City has just gone through a very tough period because of the pandemic, making the poor people need more proper and timely support to get a warm spring. The spirit of sharing in this program is precious." Ms. Nguyen Thi Be Ngoan, Vice Chairwoman of District 7 People's Committee, noted.
Present at the charity walk, Miss Ngoc Diem - Miss Tourism Vietnam shares with us: "I am really happy and excited when accompanied with this meaningful charity walk to support these disadvantaged people. This program is a way to spread love to our community during the coming Tet and spring holidays".
Due to Covid-19, the charity walk was organized smaller than previous years, with only about 1,000 participants this year.
