Handed over 10 gratitude houses to poor households in Tien Giang province
Lawrence S. Ting Foundation again back to Thanh Binh commune, Cho Gao district, Tien Giang province to implement the gratitude households.
The project aims to respond to the call of Thanh Binh commune authorities to join hands in poverty alleviation, creating conditions for poor households to sustainable poverty reduction.
Accordingly, 10 disadvantaged families are received our support to renovate and repair degraded, decaying houses. Each house is worth from 50 to 70 million VND, in which LSTF supported VND 40 million, the rest of the family contributed. The total funding amount we supported for this project is VND 400 million. The 10 households receiving support and they encountered difficult circumstances due to lack of cultivated land, poor health, old age or severe illness. They are all having the same desire to have a stable house to settle down.
With the acceptance and handover of gratitude houses in December, we expect that the new houses will provide not only a stable place to live, but also a motivation for poor households to rise out of poverty.
This is the second time our foundation has implemented a community support project at Thanh Binh commune. Previously, we supported the cost of building all 12 new houses for poor households in the area.
This activity is also our commitment to accompany local authorities to improve the quality of life for people with difficult circumstances.
